After being rescheduled twice due to the wonderfully unpredictable English weather, Sports Day finally arrived and it was well worth the wait! The afternoon was packed with a fantastic range of events, combining traditional favourites with some uniquely Gomer challenges. Children competed in the egg and spoon race, the ever-popular hole-in-a-cup water race, javelin, long jump, hammer throw, skipping race, speed bounce, hockey challenges and the fun run. There was something for everyone.

What impressed us most was not just the effort and determination shown by the children, but the way they supported and encouraged one another. Whether competing, cheering from the sidelines or helping their teammates, our children demonstrated excellent sportsmanship and team spirit.

The competition between the Houses was incredibly close. In the end, Red House were crowned champions, beating Blue House by just two points! Congratulations to all of our children for making it such an exciting contest. A special well done must go to our House Captains, who led their teams brilliantly throughout the day. They were particularly impressive as they proudly led their Houses into the sports arena for the relay races, creating a fantastic atmosphere and showcasing their leadership skills.

We would also like to thank our families for their patience and flexibility as we navigated the changes to the date. Despite the diary complications, we were delighted to welcome 236 adults to support the children. Your encouragement from the sidelines helped make the day even more special.

Thank you to everyone who played a part in making Sports Day such a success. Go Gomer!
