We are delighted to be supporting this year’s Summer Reading Challenge and encouraging all of our children to take part over the summer holidays. The Summer Reading Challenge is a fantastic way to keep reading skills sharp, discover new books and enjoy the many benefits that reading for pleasure brings. Whether your child already loves reading or is just beginning to find books they enjoy, the challenge is designed to be fun, motivating and accessible for everyone.

A huge thank you to Gemma, who recently led a superb assembly for our children, introducing this year’s challenge. It was wonderful to see so much enthusiasm, and many children told us afterwards that they would like to sign up and get involved. One of the best things about the Summer Reading Challenge is that it is completely free to take part. It is also free to become a member of your local library, giving children access to thousands of books, audiobooks and other resources throughout the year.

Our local library is the Gosport Discovery Centre, conveniently located in the town centre next to the Town Hall. The team there are always welcoming and helpful, and they will be delighted to help children sign up for the Summer Reading Challenge and find books that match their interests.

Libraries are such valuable community resources, and the summer holidays are the perfect time to visit, borrow books and take part in the challenge with friends and family.

We would love to see as many of our children as possible taking part this summer. Happy reading and good luck with the challenge!
