WOW indeed! We are absolutely delighted that King’s Academy Gomer has been ranked 5th in Hampshire in the Living Streets WOW – The Walk to School Challenge for Summer 2026.

This achievement reflects the commitment of our pupils and families to choosing active and sustainable ways to travel to school whenever possible. The news comes in the same week that King’s Academy Gomer featured on the BBC Politics Show, highlighting our commitment to promoting sustainable travel. We are incredibly proud that our school community continues to lead the way in encouraging healthier, greener journeys.

A huge thank you to all of our families for supporting sustainable travel. Walking, cycling, scooting and using our Park and Stride scheme all make a real difference. Not only do they help reduce congestion and improve air quality around the school gates, but they also encourage children to be active, arrive at school ready to learn and develop healthy habits that can last a lifetime.
